8 KDP private number plate

8 KDP is a four-character dateless registration with a single number followed by three letters. This layout, a simple one number followed by three letters format, offers a clear and classic appearance often sought after by those looking for a distinctive personal registration. The plate’s short four-character length contributes to its clean aesthetic, making it easily memorable.

As a dateless registration, 8 KDP does not display a year identifier, lending it the timeless look associated with earlier registration eras. This style offers versatility and a degree of discretion. The initial letters KDP offer potential for personal significance, aligning with common motivations for acquiring a private registration, such as the owner’s initials, a surname, or a brand name. This makes it a strong contender for individuals seeking a private plate specifically for initials.

The number 8, positioned at the start of the registration, is a standalone low number. In the hierarchy of numbers on dateless plates, single digits from 2 to 9 typically hold significant collector appeal due to their rarity and visual impact, especially when preceding letters. The format itself is associated with registrations issued approximately between 1953 and 1963. This particular registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2017. It sold for £3,600 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £4,666.
