8 LXV private number plate

8 LXV offers a clean, four-character dateless registration with a sought-after number first layout. The single digit "8" at the start is considered a low number within this format, and is typically more appealing than higher numbers, contributing to a compact and impactful registration. The trailing LXV initials provide potential for personal significance.

As a dateless registration, 8 LXV does not show a year identifier, giving it the timeless look associated with earlier registration formats. Registrations from this era, particularly those with fewer characters such as this example, are often favoured by collectors. The format of a single number followed by three letters, specifically a numbers-first sequence, positions it within a desirable category for those seeking visually balanced personalised plates.

This particular registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £1,300 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £1,685. This provenance means it is not a historic original issue but a dateless plate made available for sale at a much later date.
