8 MLB private number plate

The four-character registration 8 MLB presents a clean, dateless format, placing a single lower number at the front. This style of registration, with one number followed by three letters, has a strong visual appeal, often considered highly desirable due to its concise nature and historical association with early vehicle registration eras. The number 8, as a lower single digit, contributes to a compact and memorable reading.

As a dateless registration, 8 MLB does not show a year identifier, lending it the timeless look associated with private number plates from before the current prefix and suffix systems. This type of registration is typically sought after by those looking for a personal registration that stands apart from contemporary formats, offering a sense of established character. The initials MLB form a strong set, with an audience breadth estimated in the upper quartile, suggesting broad appeal among buyers seeking personal initials for their registration.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £5,810 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £7,460.
