8 OOO private number plate

8 OOO is a dateless registration with a concise four-character format. Its layout of one number followed by three letters, with the letters showing repetition, creates a memorable and visually appealing plate.

The presence of a low number, 8, at the start of the registration contributes to its distinctive appeal. Coupled with the repetition of the letter O three times, it offers a strong, bold visual. This combination of a short format and striking repetition is often favoured by collectors.

Dateless registrations such as 8 OOO do not show a year identifier, giving them a clean, timeless look. The format, one number followed by three letters, first appeared in the early 1950s. This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2011. It sold for £14,400 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £18,189.

The initials OOO are a central aspect of this registration's appeal, potentially appealing to individuals whose names, surnames, or brands incorporate this sequence. The mid-market popularity of these initials suggests a broad potential buyer pool.
