About private number plate 8 RUE

8 RUE is a four-character dateless UK private number plate formatted as a number followed by three letters. The leading digit, 8, offers a very low standalone number appeal. Dateless registrations such as this one do not show a year identifier, contributing to their clean, timeless look. This format, with its single digit preceding the letters, is generally more sought after and has the aesthetic appeal associated with the earliest registration eras.

The initials RUE are considered niche with lower demand. However, the overall appeal of the registration is strengthened by its short, impactful four-character length and its number-first dateless layout, which is characteristic of earlier UK registrations.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £4,340 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,573.
