8 SLY private number plate

The registration 8 SLY stands out with its short, four-character format. This concise layout, featuring a single number followed by three letters, offers a clean and memorable aesthetic, a characteristic highly valued in dateless registrations. The number 8, positioned at the beginning, contributes to a distinctive visual presence, and the letters SLY follow in a classic number-letter sequence.

As a dateless registration, 8 SLY does not show a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. Such plates were issued before the introduction of annual year codes, and this particular format, with a number preceding letters, originates from the period between approximately 1953 and 1963. The registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £7,100 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £9,202.

The initials SLY are a key aspect of this registration's appeal, offering broad potential for personal identification. For buyers seeking a registration that closely matches their initials, a clear three-letter sequence like SLY provides a strong personal connection.
