9 BAV private number plate

9 BAV is a four-character dateless registration. The format of one number followed by three letters offers a clean, concise presentation. As a dateless registration, it does not show a year identifier and has the timeless look associated with early UK plates.

As a standalone low number, 9 BAV presents immediate visual appeal. The number itself is typically more sought after than higher digits, with fewer digits contributing to a shorter, more memorable registration. The "BAV" initials offer a broad base for personal appeal, fitting a wide range of potential buyers looking for their initials.

This registration format, with a single number followed by three letters, had its origins in the circa 1953 to 1963 era. Such earlier issues are generally considered more desirable due to their historical context and rarity.

9 BAV was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2022. It sold for £10,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,840.
