9 CES private number plate

9 CES is a four-character dateless registration. The format is a single number followed by three letters, one number followed by three letters. This clear layout offers a clean aesthetic, and the use of fewer characters generally contributes to a registration's appeal. The number 9 is a low digit, and registrations featuring numbers 2 to 9 are typically more sought after than those with higher numbers.

The initials CES represent a strong pool of potential interest. Such initials can have broader appeal across a wider range of buyers. Dateless registrations with fewer characters, especially those featuring initials, capture attention due to their visual simplicity and historic association. This particular registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £3,900 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,054.
