9 KMR private number plate

9 KMR is a dateless registration with a concise four-character format. The plate offers a simple and distinctive combination of a single number followed by three letters. Such short dateless registrations, particularly those from the earlier eras of vehicle registration, are sought after for their clean appearance and historical association. The number 9, being a single digit and positioned at the start, adds to the plate's visual appeal and directness.

As a dateless registration, 9 KMR does not display a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. This format harks back to an era before the introduction of the current suffix and prefix systems, making it a classic choice for those favouring a more traditional aesthetic. The structure of one number followed by three letters is typically a numbers-first dateless style, and this particular layout enhances its visual simplicity.

The initials KMR are of mid-market popularity, indicating a broad potential audience for this registration. Plates with personal initial combinations are a leading reason for motorists to choose a private registration, and KMR offers a straightforward set of letters for personal use. While no specific word or name readings are apparent, the clear initials and short dateless format provide strong appeal for individuals seeking to personalise their vehicle.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £4,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,184.
