9 NLB private number plate

9 NLB is a dateless registration with a format that typically offers strong buyer appeal. Its four characters are arranged as a single number followed by three letters, a layout that often works well for initial-based registrations. The number 9 at the beginning ranks it among the lower single digits, a characteristic that generally enhances appeal for dateless plates, and reinforces a shorter, cleaner aesthetic.

The letters NLB present a strong set of initials. These initials are encountered reasonably frequently, suggesting a broad potential audience of buyers looking for a personal connection. As a dateless registration, 9 NLB does not show a year identifier, contributing to its clean look and timeless appeal. This type of registration format has historically been highly sought after, with the earliest, very short dateless plates pairing one or two letters with a single number being particularly desirable.

This registration first entered circulation through a DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £4,610 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,919. It was released to the open market at this time.
