9 PAW private number plate

The number 9 PAW is a four-character dateless registration. Its number-letter format presents a notably low single digit followed by three letters, which has the clean look associated with dateless registrations and tends to appeal to buyers seeking a concise and distinctive mark. Dateless registrations originally issued in the UK do not display a year identifier and often possess a timeless appeal.

This registration carries the initials PAW, a set with decent popularity that could interest buyers looking for their personal initials. The presence of the number 9 as the leading character adds a visual strength, generally making numbers from 2 to 9 more sought after than higher numerical sequences. Given that dateless registrations are inherently limited in supply, and shorter formats typically hold strong buyer interest, 9 PAW presents a notable example.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £3,900 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,054.
