90 HF private number plate

90 HF is a short, four-character dateless registration. Its layout of two numbers followed by two letters has the clean look associated with dateless registrations. Dateless plates do not show a year identifier, offering a timeless appeal. This particular style of registration, combining numbers and letters, is generally sought after, with shorter formats typically attracting keen interest.

The registration comprises the number 90 followed by the letters HF. As a dateless plate, it has the potential to represent a variety of personal meanings. While no specific word or name reading has been supplied, the initials HF could hold personal significance for its owner, potentially relating to a name, place, or memorable phrase. Given that personal connections and initials are leading motivators for acquiring private registrations, plates like 90 HF often appeal to those seeking to mark a personal link.

This registration format is known for its historical desirability. Registrations of this kind were historically issued across various UK regions, with the "HF" identifier associated with Liverpool (Wallasey). The dateless structure, particularly in shorter formats, has a long-standing appeal within the collector community. While this specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2025, its format echoes an era of early UK vehicle registration. It sold for £10,140 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £13,020.
