918 RS private number plate

The UK private registration 918 RS is a five-character dateless plate, featuring three numbers followed by two letters. This direct combination of digits and letters creates a strong visual link to specific vehicle models, making it particularly interesting for motoring enthusiasts.

The numbers 918 are a direct match for the Porsche 918 Spyder, a highly recognised model. This numerical match combined with the letters RS could also be understood by owners or enthusiasts of models with the RS designation.

The RS initials themselves are popular, representing a very strong set of initials with broad appeal among individual buyers. The plate’s layout, with fewer characters than many modern registrations, offers a clean and memorable presentation. This style also aligns with dateless registrations which do not show a year identifier, offering a timeless aesthetic.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £14,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £18,144.
