96 GK private number plate

The four-character registration 96 GK features a tidy structure with two numbers followed by two letters. Its short, balanced layout contributes to its visual appeal and memorability, qualities often favoured by buyers seeking a distinctive identifier. As a dateless plate, it possesses the clean aesthetic associated with registrations that do not display a year identifier.

The "GK" initials offer broad appeal, fitting many personal or business-related sequences. Its number component, 96, places it in the lower range of two-digit numbers, which typically hold stronger collector interest than higher numbers. Its format is consistent with earlier registration eras when shorter codes were common, and such plates are generally more sought after.

Originally appearing as part of the dateless format, the registration 96 GK was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £2,900 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,758. This type of registration, with its clean structure of numbers and letters, is a popular choice for those looking to personalise their vehicle. The combination of a short format and recognisable initials makes it a compelling option for a wide audience.
