96 NT private number plate

96 NT is a dateless UK private registration with a clean four-character format. It presents as two numbers followed by two letters, a layout that offers a sense of balance and order. As a dateless plate, it does not show a year identifier, contributing to the clean look associated with these registrations. The number 96 is in the 10-99 band, and the initials NT fall into a mid-market popularity bracket, suggesting a broad potential audience.

The dual-letter format of dateless registrations is generally a desirable characteristic for collectors, with earlier issue series often carrying higher appeal. This style of registration does not show a year identifier, giving it the timeless look associated with dateless plates. The combination of numbers and letters is easily recognised, and the shorter format of 96 NT can enhance its visual appeal.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in September 2019. It sold for £3,400 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £4,406.
