96 WG private number plate

96 WG is a four-character dateless UK private registration. Its short format, described as a 2x2 layout (two numbers and two letters), generally appeals to buyers seeking a clean and concise registration. The number 96 sits within the double-digit band, which typically holds stronger market appeal than triple or four-digit numbers.

As a dateless registration, 96 WG does not display a year identifier, offering a timeless look. The "WG" initials are considered mid-market in terms of buyer appeal, suggesting a decent breadth of potential interest. Dateless registrations from the early registration era, particularly those with a letters-first format, are generally more sought after due to their historic significance. While 96 WG has a numbers-first format, its short, dateless style retains considerable collector interest.

This registration was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £5,910 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £7,588.
