99 CY private number plate

99 CY is a striking four-character dateless private registration. Its format of two numbers followed by two letters, two numbers followed by two letters, is a concise and desirable layout. The presence of repeated identical digits in '99' adds a pleasing symmetry and visual memorability, a feature that can hold broad collector appeal. The 'CY' initials also present a clear identifier for personal use.

Dateless registrations possess a timeless appeal, not showing a year identifier and maintaining a clean look. The format of two numbers and two letters is inherently short and easy to read, a characteristic that often enhances desirability. This particular registration, with its '99' leading the sequence, offers a distinctive visual pattern.

With its clear structure and repeated digits, 99 CY is likely to interest those seeking personalised number plates with a strong aesthetic. The 'CY' initials offer a direct connection for individuals or businesses with those initials. The registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2022. It sold for £11,510 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £14,779.
