99 OF private number plate

99 OF is a dateless UK private registration with a four character, two numbers followed by two letters format. This short layout creates a clean and easily recognisable registration, a desirable attribute for many buyers. The repeated identical digits in 99 offer a level of symmetry and memorability that appeals to collectors of patterned plates.

As a dateless registration, 99 OF does not show a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. Dateless plates are generally sought after by individuals looking for a registration that can be displayed on any vehicle, irrespective of its age. The two-letter sign-off "OF" offers potential for personal connection, as initials are a primary motivator for many private plate purchases, according to DVLA surveys. The "OF" initials, classified as mid-market in terms of popularity, suggest a broad potential buyer pool.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2025. It sold for £10,020 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,866.
