99 VB private number plate

99 VB is a compact four-character dateless registration. Its straight forward two-numbers-followed-by-two-letters format, two numbers followed by two letters, is clean and easy to read, and it possesses the timeless look associated with dateless plates. The repetition of the number 99 adds a distinct visual appeal and memorability.

As a dateless registration, 99 VB does not show a year identifier. This style of registration is often sought after for its clear aesthetic and its ability to be used across a wide range of vehicles without revealing the vehicle's age. The "VB" initials offer potential for personal significance to many individuals or families.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021. It sold for £11,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £14,124. The format's appeal is enhanced by its short length and potential for initials, aligning with general buyer motivations for personalised plates. The number 99, while not the highest tier, represents a clear double-digit quantity, and its pairing with the initials VB contributes to its overall desirability.
