EKK 4M private number plate

EKK 4M is a five-character suffix registration. The format of three letters followed by two characters, with the number 4 embedded, offers a clean and symmetrical appearance. The suffix era, which began in 1963, saw the introduction of this style of registration with a trailing letter to denote the year of issue.

The numerical value of 4 within EKK 4M is modest. However, the number 4 is the lowest single-digit number available in the registration system after number 1, and generally sees stronger appeal than higher numbers. The visual substitution of the number 4 for the letter A is a well-established practice, which may enhance its potential for personal readings. The initials EKK are considered mid-market in terms of popularity, suggesting a broad potential buyer pool.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2025. It sold for £10,500 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,978.
