IG 69 private number plate

IG 69 is a compact four-character private UK number plate with a desirable letters-numbers format. Its brevity lends it significant visual appeal, making it a sought-after style of registration. As a dateless plate, it offers a clean and uncluttered look, unburdened by year identifiers.

The initials IG present a strong foundation for personal appeal, catering to a wide audience seeking to represent their name or a significant phrase. This style of registration is often pursued by individuals for its direct personal connection, with surveys indicating initials are a primary driver for private plate acquisition. The number 69, while not a single digit, is a well-recognised two-digit number that contributes to the plate's overall balanced appearance.

With the format two letters followed by two numbers, IG 69 was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £6,330 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £8,128. Dateless registrations like this one, which do not show a year identifier, have the timeless look associated with dateless registrations. The structure of two letters followed by two numbers is a popular layout for its symmetry and readability.
