LOU 12E private number plate

LOU 12E offers a concise six-character format, with three letters followed by two numbers and a final letter. This structure, known as a suffix-style registration, was first introduced in 1967. Though this particular registration became available to the public via a DVLA auction in December 2021, its format aligns with a classic era of UK vehicle registration, providing a clean and recognisable look. It sold for £17,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £21,828.

The initials LOU are considered to have niche demand, often appealing to individuals with that specific name or surname. While not as widely sought after as some other initial combinations, this rarity can appeal to collectors looking for a less common personalised mark. The inclusion of 12, a lower number within its band, presents a straightforward and clean numerical element.

The tag "plates-sold-for-15000-to-20000" indicates a history of market interest in registrations of a similar calibre. This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2021.
