NBS 5 private number plate

NBS 5 is a compact, four-character dateless registration. Its short format makes it visually appealing and easy to recall, a common trait among sought-after private number plates. Plates from this era, characterised by fewer digits and letters, tend to be popular with collectors for their clean, uncluttered appearance and their association with the earliest eras of vehicle registration. This registration originally hailed from Manchester and was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £2,800 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,629.

The "NBS" initials present a strong foundation for personalised appeal. The combination of three letters followed by a single number is a classic format, often favoured by those looking to represent their initials in a clear and direct manner. The lone digit, 5, is positioned at the end of the registration, contributing to its overall brevity and neat layout.

The number 5 represents a low-digit value and contributes to the overall short and desirable structure of the registration. Dateless registrations, particularly of this short three letters followed by one number format, are generally highly desirable due to their historical significance and the finite supply of such registrations.
