NFP 4 private number plate

NFP 4 is a dateless registration with a clean, four-character format, reading as three letters followed by one number. This layout is typically considered desirable for its brevity and straightforward presentation, a hallmark of early UK number plates. The presence of a single digit number, such as the 4 here, generally adds to its appeal and memorability.

As a dateless registration, NFP 4 does not display a year identifier, giving it the timeless look associated with cherished registrations. Such plates were issued before the current system of age-identifying letters was introduced in 1963. This particular registration format, with letters preceding a number, is often favoured by collectors due to its association with the earliest eras of vehicle registration. NFP 4 was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £1,800 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,333.

The initials NFP offer potential for personalisation, appealing to individuals or businesses with those initials. The mid-market popularity of NFP suggests a reasonable breadth of potential buyers.
