OHC 2 private number plate

OHC 2 is a compact, four-character dateless registration with significant collector appeal. Its format, three letters followed by a single number, is a highly desirable style that does not show a year identifier. As a dateless mark, it offers a clean, timeless look, and its short layout contributes to its visual appeal and memorability.

The numerals in any registration hold intrinsic value and appeal, with lower numbers generally commanding greater interest. In the case of OHC 2, the '2' represents a very low digit, aligning with the established hierarchy that favours single digits over double or triple digits. This makes it a strong representation of its category.

This registration does not represent a specific year, but the format of dateless plates in general is strongly associated with the earliest periods of UK vehicle registration. These formats are recognised for their historical significance and enduring desirability among collectors.

OHC 2 was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £15,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £19,260.
