OXZ 8 private number plate

OXZ 8 is a distinctive four-character UK private registration featuring three letters followed by a single number. Its dateless format, combined with a short character count, offers a clean and direct visual presentation. Number 8 is a particularly appealing single digit, placing this registration within a desirable range for collectors.

The structure of OXZ 8 offers potential for initials, appealing to individuals seeking a personalised mark. While the 'OXZ' combination is not among the most common, it provides a unique signature for those whose names or preferred letters align with it. Research indicates that personal connections, particularly matching initials or names, are a primary driver for acquiring private registrations, suggesting a good potential audience for this plate.

This registration also holds specific appeal within the motoring community. The 'XZ 8' sequence directly mirrors the designation of certain high-performance BMW M models, specifically referencing the BMW Z8, and potentially also the BMW Z3 M and Z4 M. This makes OXZ 8 a compelling option for owners or enthusiasts of these particular vehicles.

Historically, registrations from Northern Ireland, such as those originating from Armagh, can add a layer of regional interest. The 'XZ' portion of this registration is associated with Armagh. This plate was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2020. It sold for £2,110 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £2,709.
