PLU 11B private number plate

PLU 11B is a six-character suffix registration with a three-letter, two-number, one-letter format. The plate features a matched pair in the digits '11', creating visual symmetry and a repeating number pattern. Behavioural studies indicate that repeated-digit choices in registrations can carry a subjective, special meaning for some buyers. This repetition can contribute to memorability and visual appeal for collectors interested in distinctive number patterns.

The registration also offers the initials PLU, a niche to low-demand set, and the single initial B. The number '11' is a double-digit, generally more sought after than triple or four-digit numbers, and as a lower number within its band, it carries stronger appeal than higher double digits. The overall format provides a clean, concise look.

The suffix system for UK registrations featured a format where the final letter identified the year. This specific registration PLU 11B was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2007. It sold for £3,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £4,042.
