TJS 9 private number plate

TJS 9 is a distinctive four-character dateless UK private registration. The format of three letters followed by one number offers a clean and uncluttered appearance. As a dateless registration, it does not show a year identifier, lending it the timeless look associated with earlier issue periods. This style of registration, where a single number follows a short sequence of letters, is known for its strong appeal to collectors.

The registration TJS 9 presents a desirable initials reading. The grouping of TJS is likely to interest individuals seeking their initials on a plate. Such personalised registrations are popular for their direct connection to the owner. The number 9 at the end is a low single digit, which generally carries stronger appeal than higher numbers in comparable dateless formats.

A dateless registration such as TJS 9 was first entered into circulation via a DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £13,060 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £16,769. Registrations from this era, the brief indicates, were the earliest available and are widely regarded as having significant collector interest. The shorter, more concise format of TJS 9, featuring only four characters, contributes to its overall appeal.
