UGZ 6 private number plate

UGZ 6 is a four-character dateless registration, presenting three letters followed by a single number. This format offers a clean, short visual profile, generally favoured by collectors. The number 6, being a single digit, places it in a prominent position within the numerical hierarchy, suggesting strong appeal as a personal initialled plate.

The registration's origins are in Northern Ireland, with the 'GZ' combination historically associated with Belfast. While this specific registration entered circulation through a DVLA auction in 2024, its dateless format allows it to be associated with the timeless aesthetic of earlier registration marks. It sold for £3,020 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,878. Such registrations are often sought for their clarity and lack of a year identifier, contributing to their enduring appeal. The 'UGZ' initials are considered to have a niche to low demand, suggesting a more exclusive buyer pool.

The presence of a low single digit like 6 enhances the appeal for those seeking a distinct registration, as fewer digits and lower numbers are typically more sought-after. This characteristic, combined with the short four-character layout, makes UGZ 6 a notable option for individuals wanting a personalised mark that stands out through its structure and format.
