WC 37 private number plate

WC 37 is a four-character dateless registration with a two-letter, two-number format. Such shorter, dateless plates are generally sought after for their clean look and historic appeal, which is associated with the earliest eras of UK vehicle registration. As a dateless registration, WC 37 does not show a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look.

This registration, WC 37, was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2015. It sold for £2,400 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,110. The format of two letters followed by two numbers is a classic style, and the WC prefix code can be linked to the Chelmsford area, originally associated with registrations issued between approximately 1904 and 1932.

WC 37 offers potential for owners seeking to represent their initials. This type of personal connection is a leading motivation for many choosing a private registration, as reported in DVLA surveys.
