XGM 1 private number plate

XGM 1 is a desirable dateless registration, noted for its short, uncomplicated format and the prominence of the number 1. This style of registration, featuring letters followed by a single number, has historically been highly sought after due to its clean appearance and association with earlier issue periods. As a dateless plate, it carries the timeless look characteristic of registrations that do not show a year identifier.

The number 1 is considered the pinnacle number for any initials set, representing a definitive and highly sought-after element. Paired with the initials XGM, XGM 1 forms a four-character registration that is concise and impactful. While the initials XGM are considered niche by some, their combination with the highly desirable number 1 offers significant appeal to buyers seeking a unique and memorable personal identifier.

The format of XGM 1, with three initial letters followed by a single number, is a classic and recognisable style within the dateless registration system. This compact layout is generally more desirable as it presents a cleaner and more streamlined appearance on a vehicle. The registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £9,830 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,622.
