XIG 7 private number plate

XIG 7 is a four-character dateless UK private number plate. The registration format is three letters followed by one number, a style typically associated with the earlier periods of UK vehicle registration. Its compact layout and straightforward structure offer a clean appearance.

The number 7 is a low number, which generally contributes to a higher collector appeal for dateless registrations. Combined with the letters XIG, it forms a distinctive initials combination. For owners or enthusiasts looking for registrations representing their initials, XIG offers a niche yet appealing option.

As a dateless registration, XIG 7 does not display a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look that is independent of current vehicle age characteristics. Such registrations hold appeal for those seeking a personal touch that transcends the typical alphanumeric sequence of contemporary plates.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2024. It sold for £3,510 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £4,507.
