About private number plate 1 HE
The registration 1 HE is the definitive number plate for the initials H.E. The number 1 is in a class of its own, representing the first and foremost example of its kind. For this reason, it is considered significantly more sought after than any other number paired with these letters, such as 2 HE or 99 HE.
With just three characters, 1 HE is a particularly short and clear UK private registration. The format of a single number followed by two letters creates a clean, balanced and highly readable mark on a vehicle. As a dateless registration, it does not show a year identifier, which contributes to its timeless look.
Historically, the HE letter code was originally assigned to the Sheffield (Barnsley) area. This provides a tangible link to a specific UK region, which may hold personal relevance for some owners. The combination of the ultimate number 1, a very short format, and recognisable initials gives this plate a strong and direct appeal.
Plate Circle brings together number plate history, value context, for sale listings, spotted records and verified sold-price history where available.
