1 OCL private number plate

1 OCL presents a striking combination of top-tier number significance and a concise, easily read four-character format. As a number 1 plate, it holds a special place in the market, representing the pinnacle of numerical ordering. This inherently generates significant collector appeal, as number 1 is widely recognised as being substantially more sought after than any subsequent numerical options for the same initials.

The dateless format, one number followed by three letters, is a classic and highly desirable style. Dateless registrations, by their nature, do not show a year identifier, offering a clean and timeless aesthetic that appeals to a broad audience. The short, four-character length further enhances its visual appeal and memorability, making it an attractive proposition for personal branding or a significant initials display.

Initials like OCL are generally considered to fall into the mid-market popularity bracket, suggesting a reasonable breadth of potential buyers seeking these specific letter combinations. While no specific word or name reading has been identified, the OCL initials themselves provide a personal connection angle that is a leading motivation for many private registration buyers. This plate was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2016. It sold for £13,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £17,107.
