1 TFU private number plate

1 TFU is a distinctive four-character number plate with a desirable dateless format. Its one number followed by three letters structure, with a single number followed by three letters, has the clean look associated with dateless registrations. The use of number 1 at the start is particularly significant, positioning this plate as the pinnacle for the initials TFU. Number 1 plates are considered the most sought after within any set of initials.

The origins of dateless registrations can be traced back to the Motor Car Act 1903, which established the UK's vehicle registration system. These early plates, often short and without year identifiers, hold a unique appeal. 1 TFU, with its concise four-character length, embodies this sought-after simplicity, offering a streamlined and memorable registration.

This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2019. It sold for £4,600 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £5,962. For those seeking personal initials on their number plate, 1 TFU presents an opportunity. The initials TFU have a niche, low-demand appeal, which can translate to greater exclusivity for an owner.
