About private number plate 2 MB
2 MB is a short dateless number plate, featuring one number followed by two letters. Its three-character format creates a clean and concise display.
The registration centres on the number 2 combined with the initials MB. The initials MB benefit from elite-tier popularity, indicating broader appeal.
The format with one number and two letters is notably short, contributing to its distinct visual impact. Historically, dateless registrations have typically presented with a letters-first layout, so this numbers-first arrangement with a single digit offers a less common look.
The registration 2 MB was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 1991. It sold for £8,500 (hammer price).
With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £10,753.
Plate Circle brings together number plate history, value context, for sale listings, spotted records and verified sold-price history where available.
