3 SV private number plate

The short, eye-catching format of 3 SV features a single digit followed by two letters. Plates composed of a single number are generally more sought after than those with multiple digits, and numbers 2 to 9 are generally more sought after than larger numbers. This low number, 3, contributes to a clean, highly memorable display. The initials SV have decent popularity, appealing to a broader market due to their more common usage.

This dateless plate has the clean look associated with dateless registrations. Plates of this kind, which use a single number and two letters, are a particularly short configuration. This registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 1992. It sold for £3,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,878. Previously, the historic code SV was associated with Kinross for later re-registration use within Scotland. Earlier, the single letter S was an original 1903 area code for Edinburgh, and V was an original 1903 area code for Lanarkshire.
