About private number plate 6 YX
6 YX is a concise, three-character dateless UK private registration. Its one number followed by two letters format, featuring a single number followed by two letters, offers a clean and desirable layout. As a dateless plate, it possesses the timeless look associated with registrations from earlier eras, not showing a year identifier. This format type is typically sought after for its simplicity and broad appeal.
The number 6 at the beginning of the plate provides a strong visual starting point. While the initials YX are considered niche in terms of demand, the combination of a low number and a short, dateless format often holds significant appeal to collectors and individuals seeking distinctive personal registrations. The plate was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2018. It sold for £9,510 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £12,325.
Plate Circle brings together number plate history, value context, for sale listings, spotted records and verified sold-price history where available.
