8 SGL private number plate

8 SGL is a four-character dateless registration. With its format of one number followed by three letters, it presents a short and clean layout. The number 8 is a very low number, and such single digits tend to hold significant appeal to enthusiasts of dateless plates. The initials SGL are of decent popularity, indicating a strong potential buyer pool.

Dateless registrations from this era, particularly those with fewer characters, are highly sought after. The number-first style of this registration is common for dateless plates, and while letters-first dateless registrations are generally more sought after due to their association with the earliest registration periods, the short format and low number are strong attributes.

8 SGL was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2025. It sold for £12,110 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £15,549.
