About private number plate 8 VG
The 8 VG registration is a three-character dateless number plate in the one number followed by two letters format. Its short length is a significant element of its appeal, offering a clean and streamlined appearance often favoured by collectors. The single digit '8' at the beginning of the registration leads the plate, a format generally considered to be more desirable than registrations with higher number bands. The two letters 'VG' follow, presenting potential initial combinations.
This dateless format, not showing a year identifier, contributes to a classic and timeless look. Historically, dateless registrations with formats featuring one or two letters and a single number are recognised for their strong collectibility, representing an early era of UK vehicle registration. The 'VG' initials are estimated to have below-average popularity, suggesting a niche appeal for owners specifically seeking this combination.
Plate Circle brings together number plate history, value context, for sale listings, spotted records and verified sold-price history where available.
