About private number plate 8 WM
The registration 8 WM is a dateless plate with a short, three-character layout. It features a single number, 8, which is generally more sought after than double or triple-digit numbers due to its conciseness. This is followed by the initials WM, which have a decent popularity estimate, suggesting a broader appeal to buyers. The clean format of one number followed by two letters gives the plate a straightforward and memorable appearance.
The format of one number followed by two letters is often connected with the earliest period of UK registrations. This specific registration, 8 WM, was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 1993. It sold for £3,200 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £4,136. The WM component of the registration code was historically associated with Liverpool (Southport).
A DVLA auction in 1993 released 8 WM to the market.
