About private number plate 8 XT
The 8 XT registration offers a distinct and concise three-character format. As a dateless plate, it possesses the clean look associated with registrations from earlier eras, not showing a year identifier. The numeric sequence starting with 8, a very low number, is a key element of its appeal, typically being more sought after than higher numbers. This short, distinctive layout highlights the initials XT.
Dateless registrations like 8 XT are generally more sought after as they represent a finite supply from the earliest periods of vehicle registration in the UK. This particular format, with a single number followed by two letters, aligns with a desirable structure. The registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2020. It sold for £16,480 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £21,160.
