992 G private number plate

The registration 992 G is a four-character dateless plate with the format of three numbers followed by one letter. This style of registration does not show a year identifier, presenting a clean and timeless look. The number 992 is a lower three-digit number within its band, contributing to its overall appeal.

This plate has direct relevance to owners of certain Porsche models. The '992' generation of the Porsche 911, a highly recognisable and celebrated line of sports cars, is directly mirrored by the numerical part of this registration. This makes 992 G potentially appealing to enthusiasts and owners of this specific, iconic vehicle generation. The single letter 'G' can also serve as a prominent initial.

The dateless format, which does not incorporate an age identifier, offers a sought-after aesthetic compared to contemporary plates. Registrations like 992 G are from an era where plates were issued without a year suffix, contributing to their enduring visual appeal and collection status. This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £18,500 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £23,754.
