WDX 6 private number plate

WDX 6 is a four-character dateless registration. Its short format offers a clean and recognisable appearance, a characteristic often sought after by collectors. The registration is presented in a letters-first, three-letter followed by one-number layout, which is historically associated with the earliest periods of UK vehicle registration. Such short, dateless plates tend to have enduring appeal due to their compact design.

The number 6 is a very low number, and for dateless plates with a single digit, these lower numbers generally carry stronger appeal. As a dateless registration, WDX 6 does not show a year identifier, contributing to its timeless look. These factors combine to make WDX 6 a registration with considerable collector interest.

WDX 6 was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £2,710 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £3,480.
