XSO 1 private number plate

XSO 1 is a short, dateless UK private number plate featuring a striking combination of letters and a prominent number. The four-character registration follows a clean three letters followed by one number format, presenting a distinctive and easily readable layout. The presence of the number 1 at the end of the registration is a significant factor, historically marking it as the pinnacle for the XSO initials and typically commanding considerable collector interest.

As a dateless registration, XSO 1 does not display a year identifier, contributing to its timeless aesthetic and broad appeal among buyers prioritising a classic look. The XSO initials, while having niche or low demand, offer a personal touch for individuals or businesses seeking a unique identifier. Dateless registrations from this era, particularly those with fewer characters, are generally sought after for their clean appearance and historical significance. XSO 1 was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2018. It sold for £7,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £9,072.
