2 OSM private number plate

2 OSM is a distinctive four-character dateless registration. Its short, clean format is highly desirable, offering a neat and memorable presence. The number 2 begins a series of low numbers that generally hold stronger appeal for collectors and enthusiasts, while the arrangement of one number followed by three letters is a popular and easily readable layout. The OSM initials offer a straightforward three-letter sequence for personal use. This registration was first released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2023. It sold for £10,800 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £13,867.

The market for dateless registrations shows sustained interest, particularly for those with fewer characters and a strong visual or personal reading. Registrations that mirror surnames or initials are often sought after by individuals looking for a unique identifier. The broad appeal of personalised registrations is well documented, with personal connection being a leading motivation for buyers.
