7 UR private number plate

7 UR is a concise three-character dateless registration. As a number-letter combination, it has the clean, straightforward look associated with dateless plates, which can be particularly appealing to collectors. The format, featuring a single digit followed by two letters, is a classic arrangement for such registrations.

The number 7 is a low single digit, generally considered more desirable than higher numbers, and contributes to the plate's brevity. Coupled with the initials UR, it offers potential for personal significance to the owner. The initials UR are described as having niche or low demand, suggesting a degree of rarity for this particular combination.

Dateless registrations of this short format, particularly those with fewer characters, are often highly regarded. The DVLA has reported a finite supply of two-letter, single-number registrations, underscoring their inherent desirability. Historically, the market has shown a distinct preference for shorter plates, with analyses indicating that fewer characters tend to attract stronger prices and collector interest.

This specific registration was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2020. It sold for £25,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £32,100. It is a dateless registration and does not show a year identifier.
