About private number plate IG 6
The short, three-character dateless registration IG 6 presents a clean and minimalist format. Its appeal lies in its brevity and the potential for personal connection through initials. The number 6 is a very low number within the context of dateless plates and typically carries strong visual appeal alongside fewer digits.
The initials IG are considered mid-market in terms of popularity, suggesting a broad potential buyer pool. This makes IG 6 an attractive option for individuals seeking a personal identifier that is both distinctive and easily recognisable.
This dateless registration does not show a year identifier, giving it the timeless look associated with earlier issues. Such plates have a distinct collector interest, often appealing to enthusiasts of classic or unique vehicle registrations.
IG 6 was released to the open market via DVLA auction in 2018. It sold for £29,000 (hammer price). With auction fees, the estimated total paid by the buyer was £37,584.
Plate Circle brings together number plate history, value context, for sale listings, spotted records and verified sold-price history where available.
